Shovel, you should make the trip to Moab with me next year! There are actually quite a few troops there. Maybe they are just camera shy? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

Actually, Jim was the only first gen Trooper there this year. Gilbert and Steve had second gens, making the total number of Troopers 3 this year. Lots of Rodeos and Amigos. But, still only one Pup...:D

I do get to utah a few times each year... though mostly around the Escalante and Capitol Reef area. It's a heck of a drive from phx, and a heck and a half from tucson!

The trouble is... getting the time from work to synchronize with other events... and to synchronize with weeks when I have a few extra bucks to spend on gas. But we all know THAT routine

Are you insinuating a challenge for us Pup owners? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" />

How about some pics of it in "action". I've only seen 2 in my forum lifetime. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

How about some carnage on the way home? We had the bypass hose go out on the amigo about 45 miles from Moab, right after I pulled over because the high pressure AC line burst (man, that was a loud bang!) . I couldn't find anything that would fit it from the sami or the cherokee, and after getting coolant/steam on two of the fingers on my left hand, I sorta lost interest in trying. We sent the kids on their way in Amanda's cherokee once we called the tow service.

USAA's towing policy worked, even if they sent me back to Moab instead of 15 or 20 miles farther to Grand Junction. While I was waiting for the wrecker, I got a hold of Julie Marsh, who was spending an extra day in Moab and she was nice enough to go to Parts Plus and get some different size hoses and clamps, and a couple of gallons of antifreeze.

When the wrecker arrived he put the amigo on the flatbed and towed the dolly behind his truck, and I drove the sami back to Moab. By the time I got the sami back to Moab, the rear was making noises when traveling in a straight line, so there may be something wrong with the diff. The driver side brake cylinder also checked out and left a nice trail of brake fluid everywhere. We ended up loading it onto the dolly a$$-end up, and strapped down the steering wheel. We also replaced the bypass hose with a 6-inch piece of 3/8 heater hose, ate dinner with Julie then took off.

Ended up getting home aroung 4:30am...

Michael
Dave
Alex
Amanda
Julie
Myself

Glad to see your family finally made it all back safely Jeff.

I think he was compensating for equipment.

Turbo amigo: 8.5 hours.
Vehicross: 9 hours

2.8L trooper on 33's, 11-13 hours.
