Awesome Sparky...where did you find the pop-roof pic? I want to see more! I really dig the can carrier. When are we all getting together again, I want to see it in person What's the story on the skinny rims? Will the GenIII 16x6 (or is it 7?) steelies work on a GenII? Found this link for an L300 Delica poptop: Clicky

I took some close pics today. I will resize tomorrow and post up, I have to go to sleep now. Cool. Will be waiting for the close up pics especially of the mounts & swing away mechanism. If it's simple enough to do, I would mind taking a shot at building something like it assuming there's not too much shaping/bending of steel required. I could really be a cool project. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Finally, geez what took me so long? Some of the holder is made out of some alloy, not steel too. The top is bolted with 3 bolts through the body. The bottom is bolted with 2. The arm going from the bottom bolts onto the bottom of the biggest part of the holder. There is also a latch bolted to the door. David, I found the tent pic on some website that showed a lot of different options and bumpers and stuff. That is the only pic of it. No info on it either. I tried to find that website lastnight, but it think it is gone. It is ultra cool.
I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

Thanks Sparky. Cool carrier, too. What's the story with the skinny wheels?

Cool.
Did the N.American setup come with re-enforcements inside the door & body to handle the weight of the mount or did you build/add somethings inside to reinforce the attachement points?

David, I am going to get the plain steel rims that were spares on the Gen1 LSs. They are 15x6 just like the stock steels. I want to put some skinny mud tires on it. Nothing special, just different, overseas looking stuff, Camel Trophy type stuff.
Ray, the US spec trucks do not have extra brackets welded to the inside of the body for the holder. There is crap in there that makes it very hard to get nuts on the back of the bolts. I actually used some of the nuts from the other parts of the holder, thay have big washers pressed onto the nuts. The body is fairly strong, I think it will handel the weight in the ruff stuff. I will report on anything if it bends or breaks.
I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.
