If the dist. is pointing to #1 on the outside of the cap, it is wrong, if you look inside the cap you will see how the metal connector things run to a different spot.

There are 2 marks to line up on the dist gear and shaft. After you get the timing lined up, insert the dist. The gear will turn slightly as it goes in.

Dont worry, if you have the timing off when you turn the engine over, your valves will not hit the pistons.

To get the cam sprocket lined up, you need a 17mm i think, and turn ever so slowly to get the mark to line up. It will want to spring back so watch your hands. But if you go very slow, it will hold the mark.

Not hard to do, but might take some practice. If you have any more problems, post up.
