Have you had the YJ long? If not, give it some time, eventually you'll get used to them and won't even notice they are there.
That being said, I'm thinking if you just swapped the arms from a TJ, you may have trouble adjusting the distance the wipers travel. On the YJ, they start in the center and move both higher and lower than the starting point to clear the whole window.
With them starting off at the bottom from the bend in the TJ arm, the wipers may not travel up far enough to clear the whole window.
Inside the windshield frame on each wiper transmission, there is a metal tab that bends around and hits another tab on the transmission that reverses the direction of travel. The transmission is kept in place by a little raised spot that fits through a notch in the frame. It's kindof hard to explain without pictures, but if you fold down your windshield and look behind those plastic plugs, you should be able to see what I'm talking about.
I've never tried this, but you might be able to bend the tab to adjust the travel for the new 'bent' wiper arm.
Another thing that might work, if you get the TJ wiper arms from a junk yard, also remove the wiper transmissions and linkage. If they fit in the YJ windsheild frame, then that should already be adjusted to the proper distances.
Again, I've never tried either solution, but if you can acquire the parts at a reasonable price, it might be worth a try.
Or maybe someone else here has already done this, and they'll tell you that it just works. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
