Well, I'm flat out pissed off at this point!

Spent more time underneath the vehicle and could see that even if I could get at it from the top, the connector is still about 3 inches forward of the shift levers.

Still couldn't get more than 1 hand up from underneath. Since it's a locking plug, I don't know how you'd do that one handed!

I even bought a 1 day subscription from Toyota's TIS site, and DAMMIT if I couldn't find any information there!!!!! I found dash removal instructions, but nothing on how to remove the center console (if that's even the route to go)! Absolutely nothing on replacing the O2 sensor, just inspecting it!! WTF?!

Since it seems that the only way to replace this sensor is to remove the transmission, I'm just going to have to live with poor gas mileage. No way I'm going to pay for this job to be done!

I just replaced both of mine in about 15 minutes... the plug that sits up on top of the tranny will move a bit toward the passenger side. I laid on my back directly under the tranny (head towards the front), reached up around to the plug with my right hand and kind of slid the plug over the top toward the passenger side. There's a cable holder somewhere behind where the plug sits so you'll have to push the plug diagonally toward the passenger side front. I found it easiest to separate/reconnect the plug by reaching all the way over the tranny with the right hand.

Good luck,
~Dave
