Where are you located? I have the red 87 Montero in Northern California. Someone else nearby has a tan 87 Montero in the Central Coast area. There are others in the mid states and back East.

Karl,

Are you being mysterious on purpose or just not sure what you're looking for. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

The gen I's came in various models.

Engine: 2.6L I-4 carbureted or 3.0L V-6 fuel injected
Body: 2 door short wheel base (SWB) sometimes called a "sport" model or 4 door long wheel base (LWB)
Trim Options: LS usually add's a Limited Slip Differential, Headlight Washers, Nicer interior trim & seats.

I would enjoy all of the above. My first draw would be a well cared for ride, then next a fully loaded 4 door LS ?? Did the make a SR ?? I have seen some with a sun roof and leather. I also like the 2 doors, the turbo chop top in the for sale section is way cool.

No, not for the Gen I's. SR's were a Gen II model, however the LS's came with alot of the power options you seek plus a Limited Slip Differential.

Yes, some came with a sun roof. In gen I's I'm not sure if leather was a factory option. In the US, 2 doors were only available with Gen I's.

The 2 door chop top is a custom thing for the US as the factory convertables were never offered here.

If you don't find what you're looking for here, also check craigslist.org and the other obvious sources (local paper, autotrader.com, cars.com) for what you're looking for.

Just for my own sparked interest here, and clarity; do the LS's HAVE limited slip, or is it just more likely? I know of one locally for $200, although it has been sitting for quite a while with the sunroof open... interior is horrible, but not a bad price for a parts truck.
