Need a Spot
im starting to look at a full exhaust system and i found these Hedman Hedder with dual outlets that go with my 1990 Wrangler 4.2L I6 and i think it would be cool to use those and do a custom dual exhaust setup and im wondering if anyone has used/uses these headers or have heard about them from a friend. and if not these headers then another full system like banks or borla. thanks

If you want the headers just to be "cool", then go ahead with the headers and custom exhaust system.

However, for performance off-road, forget it. Headers will provide you with a little performance gain, but it wil be at the top of your RPM range, and you'll never notice any difference (other than louder exhaust) when driving off-road in that 6-cylinder.

Save your money to spend on more performance-enhancing things (gears, tires, lockers, winch, etc.)

Oh yeah! Bob is soooo correct...I totally agree. You will get NOISE and little if anything else. If NOISE is what you want just buy ONE glasspac and there you are.
Keep it stock and save your money for a fuel injection system.

I think you guys missed the point. He said he thought it would be COOL to have a dual exhaust setup. He mentioned nothing about performance gains.

Hoki...I have not heard anything about the headers, I do know that Borla is a good quality company.

yeah im not doing anything major with my jeep. my dad and i are restoring it some and just making it a nice extra car and eventually i would like to do some trail riding once i get a better suspension on it but i know exhaust wont get me much if any performance gain. it would be more for show than anything if i do exhaust. i was just trying to see if anybody has used them to do a dual setup on a straight 6. ive seen dual on V8 jeeps but never on a I6

The california (only) late model exhaust manifold has two outlets on it. For a late model it would do a good job for dual exhausts.
We used to hop up chevy sixes. With a split manifold and duals they sound HORRIBLE! Really different from a v-8 sound.
