I have been looking for a awhile for some fender flares for my 88' swb but have had no luck in finding a set.
i'm sure it has been covered before but do you guys know of a place where i can get a set... i'm trying to cover some pretty bad rust so i can cut it out and patch it a bit.

Fenders can be found at car-part.com for less than a good set of flares.
Bushwacker are the only company that I know that made them in mass production although I'm not sure if you'll find them in any volume from any sources. I'd check w/ bushwacker to see if any of their retailers have them in stock.
Also, bear in mind that these are had plastic flares which have a tendency to break when hit. This is especially unwanted off road but on road, it should be fine.

Don't waste your money getting new fenders. I had one w/ a HUGE ass dent in it and the other rusted beyond belief. I can supply pictures of before and after. They look brand spankin' new. So if you have half a brain for working on these kinda things then save the money and fix them up in your free time. AND if they're really rusted....which I'm doing to my truck just because I don't want to think of rust ever again you could paint the fender or the whole vehicle in KBS or Por15 rust preventative paint.

Well, time is money. I replaced a fender on my gen-1 in about 45 minutes (allowing time for beer) with a $40 unit from the more expensive junkyard. Even with my less than half brain, I doubt I could "fix" the existing crunched one in that amount of time... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

My point exactly that is why I thought it would be cheaper and faster to replace the fender then do rust repair.

My Raider wears a set of Bushwackers. There is a place in TN called Friendsville Plastics that makes plastic parts for dirt track cars. I have their phone number, got it today, and will phone them Monday and ask if they could and would duplicate my flares; and what the minimum order would be and also an idea of the cost. Anybody who wants a set of flares for a Gen. 1 speak up now please. ![[Linked Image]](http://216.77.188.54/coDataImages/p/Groups/15/15729/folders/211036/1619539raider1.JPG)
