Hi everybody!

Quote
Oil Filters:

-Wix 51067 (Available at NAPA, and other Wix Retailers)
-Baldwin BD28 (Union Tractor, Traction, etc, as per Torquemonster)

So, I cannot find any of above, but Lordco offered me FRAM PH 51067. According to WIX website it is the same. Did anybody try it? Any concern?

Oil is another question. I cannot find oil for diesel, I checked out C.Tires so far, where you guys change the oil in Vancouver area?

Thanks,

I cross referenced a Fram filter at Wal-Mart for a Dodge D50. The Fram part was about 3" long, and the NAPA is 7" long. Way more filtering area. I'd look at that Fram before buying it.

Fram is garbage...don't ever buy fram filters. to get baldwin filters you have to go to a heavy machinery outlet. there has got to be lots around vancouver. I had to order my Baldwin Filters from vancouver through Union Tractor.

Hmmm... I work for an aviation supplier with a Shell account. I'm gonna have to check the MOQ (minimum order quantity) of that direct from Shell. Anyone wanna split a 55gal drum with me?

Thanks, I agree with you but do not want to go with synthetic oil.

Cheers,

CT sells regular dino oil in Rotella too, but why do you not want synthetic? If it's a cost issue I understand - I offset this by stretching my change interval a little, but IMHO qulaity oil is paramount in this little engine. If you put a boost guage on your truck you'll find that you're always pushing 8-12 psi of boost on the highway. That's a lot of destructive heat seen by the oil, and the expensive turbo, etc.

Just my 2 cents...

I think Phil has it right. It's just not worth it to skimp on something that important if you can actually afford it. We even run full-synth in our little Subaru 2.2L Legacy. Little engines work hard. I'll save the $1.89 Walmart oil for the 318 in my New Yorker :P.
