25.000 miles, so it is worth.

Thanks everybody for support!

That is a long time between oil changes. I would never go 25,000 miles or 40,000 KM between oil changes even with a newer diesel that runs a lot cleaner. I dont know about you guys but every old diesel that I have owned has black oil paste for oil after 5,000KM.

Thanks, DonM!

Actually it is a good topic to be discussed here...

I did another check, here http://www.worldsbestoil.ca/sae30-heavy-duty-diesel-oil-ACD.php# says Up to 25,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first.

I am going to go with http://www.worldsbestoil.ca/15w40-amsoil-motor-oil-for-diesel-engines.php#

or with this http://www.worldsbestoil.ca/15W40-Synthetic-Blend-Diesel-Oil.php#

Which is better?

Cheers, <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

Body Damage is Cool
old diesels turn the oil black within the first 5 minutes of running the engine after an oil change. thats why quality diesel oil with good detergents keep cleaning and won't gum everything up. if you run crap oil all the time you will notice your oil turning to sludge very quickly

saw several negative feedback for Rotella

Where'd you see that? I've been running the synth version for almost 40k clicks now, in the last year, and can't give anything but good reports so far.

I can buy direct from Shell in Burnaby through work, so I've got our purchaser checking Rotella case prices for me [us!] <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />. I guess 20L pails would probably be a good balance between volume pricing and useable containers. I'll have pricing in a few days.

I would be interested in the Rotella T. It is what I use and I have been happy with it.

Well, one of them is here:

last winter I ran 0W40 Rotella, but I am not with Rotella. I will run a 5W40 Amsoil this winter.

Another feedback I cannot recall the source, in the web somewhere...

I assumed to go wiht brand without any negative...

But I think now can go with Shell...

Cheers,

Looks like I can get Rotella 15W40 for $3.36+tax/QT FOB Calgary, minimum order 6 12QT cases. Is that a good price?

Well,

price is good, I believe taxes and shipping will not be too much though the final price will be useful to know... I can get Amsoil 15W40 for 8,45 all included for pick up in Burnaby/Vancouver...minimum 1 pack of 12 quarts or 1 pack of 4 gallons...

What is the "shelf life"? As fas as we need 6-7 liters, so 4 quarts will left for next oil change...

Another point, I do not believe we'll got 6 person to fit their min requrements...

Do they have it in gallons?

Thanks!

I can get it shipped from Calgary free smile. And no PST if I get my buddy in Calgary to pay for it. Plus, we can split the MOQ with the many Alberta Pajero folks here. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
