bad Ox sensor?

So I just put a new Ox sensor in, generic crimp on type. Now while i'm trying to diagnose my problem i was setting the idle speed and ran it at about 2500 rpm for two minutes as per the manual, midway through the engine light came on. When i pulled the code it was a code 5, Ox code. Could I have gotten a faulty sensor? or could there potentially be another reason for the code. By the way, 22re, 143k

86 4runner, pro comp AAL, Kayline Soft top, 31's but all stock
