'98 Amigo 2.2L - There are supposed to be some marks on the water pump to correctly align it when replacing the timing belt. We cannot find any - can anyone tell us where to look? (Or why you would "align" the water pump?) Also, the tensioner for the timing belt does NOT resemble the diagram in either of two tech manuals. There is supposed to be a notched area for aligning - we have a scale - sort of - there is a pointer in front of a white strip, the white strip shows 65 (degrees sign) C. Anyone have a clue? Thanks!
Another question! Has anyone done the timing belt in a 1999? Our belt appears to self-adjust (the tensioning pulley adjusts itself after you have attempted to set it per 1998 tech instructions.) It was sold new in late November of 1998 and so we are wondering if it is one of those 1998 1/2 or 1999 sold as a 1998. I would sure appreciate any feedback.
Thanks again!
