The MAF can't be cleaned manually, trust me, I tried and destroyed it in the process. Maybe carb cleaner might help but physical contact makes it fall apart. Ask around here for a spare if that is the problem, I got mine shipped from the U.S to Australia for less than a quarter of what a second hand one would have cost here.
