Hi guys, new to the forum. I've been building my truck on and (mostly) off for the last 2 1/2 years, I really intend to finish it now.
Question is, I have a 2 wire plug (contacts perpendicular to eachother) that I just found unused. I have completed all my vacuum and device install, and it matches the FSM exactly for my year (88 22re EFI). I found a vacuum valve in a box that fits it perfectly, but I have a bunch of spare parts from a 87 22R, so I don't know which it came from. Were there any plugs not used on some harnesses for certain years? The truck is not ready to fire up yet, so I can't give any feedback on how it runs.
I can post a pic or 2 if need be.
Here's my build so far: 88 standard cab truck fiberglass fenders and bedsides total chaos front end with heim joint steering and 2.0 7100's (hydraulic bumps to be installed) all pro offroad buggy springs with flush mount front hangers in rear, SAW 2.5 reservoir shocks full cage, twin stick xfer case, 4.88 gears, detroit locker rear, lockrite front, 22RTE block with 22RE head, mild cam, CT26 from MR2, 370? cc injectors, GTR skyline intercooler, griffin aluminum radiator, corbeau buckets with 5 point harnesses, pine tree air freshener.

Pics would help, but an early guess would be an AC idle up VSV? They had the plug type you are describing.
Location of the plug would help too.

Here are some pics: Note that I have relocated the various vacuum devices to make getting the VC on and off easier. The plug in question- ![[Linked Image]](http://img235.imageshack.us/img235/9919/img5716smsy8.th.jpg) The vacuum switch that fits it (may or may not be from this motor)- ![[Linked Image]](http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/709/img5717smkb6.th.jpg) The engine bay- ![[Linked Image]](http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/5296/img5718smwf4.th.jpg)

It bolts to one of the bosses on the valve cover near the dipstick in picture #3.
I think one hose goes to the manifold & the other to the idle-up valve, I can get more accurate info tomorrow.

Well,I was wrong about where I thought it hooked up. This should answer your questions about how it hooks up, if not, let me know what you need. ![[Linked Image]](http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/8098/croppedfa5.th.jpg) Dave

Ok, thanks. My truck was not originally equipped with A/C, but I am adding it. I'll look through my manual to figure out the vacuum hose connections.
Has anyone tied into this to up the idle for winching etc-?

I'll have to upload some pics to my site and link them.
I confirmed that the plug is the A/C idle up switch, checked the wiring schematics and the colors match.
What I can't find is any diagram for the vacuum hose routing <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />. Anyone have a diagram or an '88 with A/C? I do have a plug in the side of the intake plenum, is there another device which goes there in an A/C equipped vehicle? My wife's '95 is too different to use as an example.
