I don't know if I entirely buy the cold air intake concept... I guess it could help a tiny bit in theory. If you ask me, it is probably the case that hte stock exhaust is somewhat restrictive. You want to try and reduce restriction without significantly raising the power band rpm range... so in other words, a 3" exhaust = bad. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> But you might think about a freer flowing muffler and catalytic converter. I base this on my own experience with AMC V8.

The only thing is, if flow is too free, the computer may not be able to 'learn' the right mix (ie, richen it up enough). That is one PITA with the computerized vehicles as they aren't as easy or cheap to retune as carb. I agree, gearing will help if you have increased tire size. If gearing is already optimal, Just going with lower gears won't necessarily help unless the power band is altered. Also tire and wheel weight reduction will help.

I guess I should've first asked... what specifically are you trying to fix? Off-the-line acceleration? WOT acceleration? Part throttle? Hwy ? Hill climbing?
