MY 89 LS 2DOOR V-6 AUTO RUNS FINE, BUT HAD AN 87 4 CYL AUTO W/ BAD ENGINE OFFERED TO ME FOR $500.00. WHAT PARTS CAN I TAKE OFF AND SAVE TO USE ON MY 89? GLASS, DOORS, HOOD, FENDERS, SEATS...


BONE STOCK 89 MONTERO LS V-6 AUTO SWB, EVERYTHING WORKS, INCLUDING THE HEADLIGHT WASHERS, AND THE R-12 BLOWS 45 DEGREES. ORIGINAL OWNER WITH 123,350 MILES.

Most everything in the interior can be used, the primary differences between the years being drivetrain parts.

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping the drive line parts were. I can swear, I read in this forum, that from the tansfer case to differentials were identical. the only interior part I noticed is the instrument cluster(Gauges and indicator lights) If what You said is true, I'll just turn around and sell the 87 for parts. $1,000.00

4cyls use smaller diffs, I think smaller outputs on the t case.

yea you should be able to use most of the interior and exterior trim body parts. Diffs are smaller on the 4 cyl models. A V6 auto SWB with headlight washers? truly a rare beast you have yourself there. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
