These are the crumple zones for a front end collision. They crumple absorbing and dissipating energy.

When I did my body lift, I cut the front section off of these crumple zones. The section on the top rite at the point where they neck down and then neck back out. In the valley portion. It also kind of lines up with the bottom section of the "gater teeth" on the sides.

It only cuts about 1" off and this is enough to clear the bumper to put it back into the stock looking location.
