how do i find out my stock gear ratios?

ok so i looked everything up and i come up with 8.0"rear with 4.10 gears and 2 pinions does that sound right.it sounds kinda low to me...for stock.

4.10 is typical gearing for a manual transmission and 28" tires. Should be 4-pinion with the V6, but 2 will work as well. Trucks with 5-speeds and 31" tires came with 4.56 gears from the factory (that was only offered in the early 90's models).

I don't believe they offered 31s until model year '89 on the trucks and '90 on the 4runners. As for having a 2 pinion on a V-6 truck, that was not very common, but being as you have a very early V-6 truck, that might explain it. The 4 pinion diff was first offered on the turbo 22RT-E models, but may not have been commonly offered on the V-6 models until '89 and later.
