Starts fine, after driving it for a while(10 min), when I engage the clutch the engine rpm's go to 2200. I ve tried tapping the peddle and pulling on it but it stays the same. This happens consistantly, seems to have gotten worse since it's been hot outside.....

From past experience I'd start by looking for vaccum leaks and / or a bad coolant temp sensor.
Back in the game! '94 YJ 2.5 all stock.

it may be the iac (idle air control) located on the throttle body. remove the whole throttle body and remove the iac and give it a good thorough cleaning with carb cleaner. especially the iac use a toothbrush if needed. that should help, if not back to the ol drawing board.

im with cuervo it sounds to me like the IAC, that was the problem with mine and good cleaning fixed it, well it did it every once in a while after that but it hasnt done it in a really long time, but tomarrow i bet its going to now that i brought it up
