I did this, but I wanted the same sliding ability as the truck. I have extended cab and need rear access. For me it was a major PIA. I salvaged the original sliders by cutting them off the old split bench. I ended up raising the front of the mr2 seats up about 1.5 inches. I dont think the bottom section is wide enough for a truck. THe MR2 seats are not as well made as the truck seats. they have less padding in between you and the metal frame. I think if you are doing some hard wheeling in the truck, you will find the tilting mechanism is probably not as strong as you need for a heavy male bouncing around. The gears that hold the seat angle are only used on one side of the seat, where trucks have them on both.
I I didn't weld my old sliders to the MR2 frames. I made some bolt up rig because I think I will replace them. The tilting bottom is nice, but if you are 6 foot tall it wont come anywhere near the bottom of your legs unless you tilt the front up.
I wasnt willing to drill holes in the body of my truck and I really didnt want the limited sliding ability of the MR2 seats, if your in a regular cab it may not matter.

The MR2 rear bolt holes were nowhere near the holes in my 89
