The 25-30 mpg sounds great . I'm not really concerned with power as much as I am torque. My RS is a DD, but I only drive it about 8-10 miles a day round trip to and from work, and I rarely hit 45mph. On road behavior is important, but, I actually care more for toque in an off-road environment. If it will be able to maintain 70 mph on an interstate, I'm happy. It's stock now, but I plan to put a 2 inch body lift from Roger under it, as well as genII coils and locking 3rd member. I will be getting some 235/85R16's on black wagon wheels from Whitelespaul in August, but I eventually intend to swap the tires for 34x9x16 Super Swampers. I want the requisite snorkel, roof rack, bumpers and sliders (by Don), winch, hi-lift, jerry cans/custom spare holder, 2 1/4" hi-flow cat & back exhaust system and such to go along with it. I'm just trying to figure out which direction to take with the engine. Mine has 200k on it. Runs strong, but has the typical lifter tick, and a very pathetic incontinence problem (oil pan and filter adapter plate.) It seems like rebuilding my motor or swapping in a diesel or later/larger petrol V6 will likely be a neck and neck deal, as far as pricing goes.
I just don't know what I want to do
I want someone to jump up a say "DO THE (fill in the blank)"
