Getting the Wheeling Fever
I do not have to courage to put a turbo on my Sporty. I am happy when it runs well. If you look at some of the pics here you will see some amazing suspension work being done on the rocks ETC. The Sporty also has a pretty mean low gear.

turbo charge it!!! i have thought bout turbo my thning but i have 1 turbo car already and i know how hard i drive it so i dunno if the kia could take that sort of punishment. the hardest part would be making a manifold and seeing if the standard computer will be able to retard the timing enough so it doesnt ping itself to death, otherwise u will need an aftermarket ecu or piggyback $$.

turbo's generally dont make enough increase in the low end of the power band to make any real difference for wheelin unless all you do is tear through the mud at high rps!

a supercharger makes more sense for our applications as it is instant power across the entire power band. and if you are not planning on high boost a supercharger will most likely be a better option.

downsides are it would be much easier to do all the fabwork for the turbo.

either way you will be looking at a new injector set up, most likely ignition and definately some sort of ecm upgrades.

not sure of how much bosst, YET!!!!, that the engine will handle with stock internals though.

this is something that is definately on my to do list as I would rather keep it a kia for now and not do an engine swap. although, it may end up being a easier adventure with much better results to do the swap.

thats theway im thinkin at the moment .....keep the heart of it kia....already have bigger injectors to go in am looking at a turbo on the weekend......have to intercool it as the compression is reasonably high....only want about 6-8 psi thru it ....

just look for a small turbo so it spools up down really low but has nothing up high, maybe a turbo from a gtr skyline as they r a twin turbo they r kinda small...
