Whats the spline count difference between the locking hubs on an IFS versus solid axle locking hubs. Could the hub guts be swaped out from either or, to make them work if they are different?

27 vs. 30 as I recall. Some of the internal parts are interchangeble from what I have heard.

So the 30 are on the solid axle, correct? And has anyone swapped the hub guts from a 27 and make it a 30 or vice versa?

Correct, 30 on the solid axle hubs. There was a thread on the Pirate forum in the last year about parts swapping between hubs.

some of the guts may be interchangeable, but the hub body is different, more of a recess for the ifs to clear the spindle nuts than on the sa hubs. sa hubs won't fit on ifs...

So if I took the IFS hubs and replaced the 27 spline locking collar and replaced it with an after market 30 spline collar , they would not fit on a solid axle, correct?
