For your sake I hope that it is not the rear main too!

Some will tell you that it can be changed with the motor in the Jeep, which I'm sure it can. But it is much easier with the motor outta the Jeep.

I had to change the rear main seal on my Jeep recently, and driving the old seal out is kinda a PITA.
