Switched oil pressure gauges to the one that originally came in the instrument and it also showed a low reading. The other gauge I baught didn't fit the threads in the block so I'll exchange it on monday.
I don't see why the bearing clearence would cause low oil pressure, but one thing's for sure I got scared as hell when I got that answer. Could there be any other explanations besides the bearings, that are a bit easier to fix, you could calm me down with???

If the bearing clearence is too large, the oil simply flows out the sides of the bearings and back into the oil pan.

You really are describing a bearing clearence issue, sorry...*EB
