G52&54 use forward shift cases. W56 A&B use top shift, W56 C&D use forward shift cases, BUT the shift rods on the cases used w/the W56 C&D are 1" shorter than those on the cases used w/the G series trannies, so you'd have to swap the shift rods between cases.
