someone with a 22re do me a huge favor and tell me what this hose fitting is and more importantly where the hose is supposed to go to? I searched and searched and couldn't find the hose anywhere in there so I'm assuming it's either really hid in the back of the motor or there's another fitting in need of a hose as well. Thanks guys! I've circled the fitting in the first two pics, and my middle finger is resting on it in the third. Are you sure it was even hooked to anything? I've had a few trucks with 22RE's and i've seen 1 or 2 of those nipples plugged. Do you have cruise?

it's definitely got vacuum i can hear it with the hood closed that's why i checked it out in the first place.
i'm not positive it had a hose but when i put my finger over the hole and plug the vacuum the idle goes down a little. figured that meant that *something* is awry.
btw sweet bumper. looks great.

On my 93 22re which is a california model, one hole is plugged, the second goes to the vsv that controls the fuel pressure regulator, and the third one goes to the vsv that works with the EGR. My bet is that hole should just have a plug on it unless cruise control has something to do with it. Have you looked at the vacume system routing info on the underside of your hood. That should tell you if anything should go there.

My '85 has one line plugged out of that fitting as well: http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTricks/22RE_Engine_Pix/10.htmlOne goes to the VSV for the fuel pressure regulator and one goes to the cruise control servo. I used the 3rd port (originally plugged) for my vacuum gauge.

My 87 22re non-california has two of the three ports plugged...but in any case it should not be open to atmosphere.

The vaccum hoses are crossed up. The vaccum hose to the left of that nipple should be on the one you are pointing too.
