not my truck, but a friend of mine's '93 22re pickup.

runs ok at idle. snap the throttle and it stalls. can bring up the RPMs slowly, but it begins to break up at higher revs.

no CEL. no codes.

any ideas? still need to get a timing light and fuel pressure gauge on it, but timing WAS ok. and fuel filter is not plugged.

Make sure the TPS is set up properly; root of all evil.

Might also have a plugged EGR.

Yes, if you don't find any vacume leaks I would check the egr system. The symptoms sound like that of an egr problem.

Someone gave me a 92 saturn sl2 not to long ago because if you tried to accelerate it would cut out and stall, but if you reved it real slow it would rev up. So it was basically imposible to drive. Turned out to be the egr valve itself. Got it runnin good and sold it before somethin else broke on it.

fuel filter is ok. still need to check fuel pressure.
dosen't seem like an egr problem to me, but i will block it off an see if it changes.

it acts exactly the same whether tps is plugged in or not. it is entirely possible that the tps is bad, but i don't think it's the only problem.
