I replaced the rear main seals on one of my Rodeos and two of my Amigos. I did not drop the transmission, just moved it back enough to get to the seal, about 4 to 6 inches. This did not leave any room to "drive" the seals in place so I made up an aluminum tool and used four bolts screwed into the drive shaft to "press" the seals in place. I used a heavy aluminum industrial temperature sensor cover that fits the seal perfect. I drilled four holes in the cover using the flex plate to mark the position for the holes. Bought four bolts 55 mm long, it worked great to evenly press the seal in place. Pictures if you need them. Also have access to a few more of these covers fairly cheap.
