Ya, I think that's probably what he meant or maybe he misunderstood what they were telling him, but Longfield has suggested that AWD vehicles like the 80 shouldn't run them, because they are actually softer, which is why they don't snap and thus will wear out faster. I've heard figures like lasting only 30,000 miles, or so, but I could be wrong.

This isn't an issue with part time 4WD rig, with hubs at all.
