My period of shame continues. It was the paint I feel, that prevented the Torx connector pin from fully seating, and in the end stripping my Torx connectors. To prevent myself from doing any further damage, I plan to visit a local body shop and pay to have them removed, and the new replacements I purchased (without any paint) installed.
