With the skills you have and work that I have seen on your truck, I would just try the dual isuzu case set up and see if that is low enough for you. I picked up an auto t case for $100 and the metal, bushings etc involved mostly came from a scrap bin ran under $50. The aluminum welding/tig was all done by my brother. I am sure someone around the fire house can tig for you. The spendy part was the drive shafts for mine.
