V6 tacoma 4x4 5speed.
when i come to a stop i push the clutch in and when it rolls while the clutch is depressed i hear a nasty grinding noise only in gear, but not in nuetral. i think its the throw out bearing. anyone know wat this is <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

You need to perform a good visual inspection underneath there. Look for leaks, past leaks, etc. while visualizing where the sound is coming from and look at everything with a good flashlight.

Short if starting there, diagnosing a "sound" over the 'net is tough.

FWIW, my old 3.4 / 5spd 4Runner always had a noisy throw out bearing, since day one.

my throw out bearing always made a clicking sound, but this a nasty grinding sound. i'll look at it in the morning

i didn't see any leaks wat size is the drain and fill plug i don't have anything big enough

IIRC, the drain and fill plug on the transmission is a 24mm.

Not meaning to be flip but you do know the throwout bearing is in the clutch assy., not the gear case, right?
