I just picked up a 1982 Toyota for $450 running. I like the feel of the engine (22R) and tranny(L50) over my 20R/L43 combo. aside from the engine swap..what other stuff do I need to change? The ignition system seems different then my 1980. Not sure if 82 ran a computer...or if that was for EFI only. Tomorrow when I get her home I am going to look over it better. I was press for time but my interest in buying it was really for the tranny and extra t-case. But, now that I had time to think about it. I was thinking of the engine. Only different that I saw was a header and mechanical fuel pump. Is their a block off plate to replace the pump? I plan to use my electrical fuel pump currently on my 1980 yota. I also bought a Marlin heavy duty clutch and flywheel for my 1980 toyota. It would seem that the clutch and flywheel should work on the 82 tranny. They are new...in fact I am still waiting on the flywheel. Will they work? I can do the labor it is just the prep work that takes so long. I don't want to run into many problems while I have it apart. I would like to know before hand. That is all for now. Thanks again for your input. Mike
