Cooler and cleaner air. Sucks up some bugs sometimes though, not a problem.

I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

Why would they? From additional drag? Longer more restrictive intake? Air in fender is just about as clean and cool. I most certainly didn't observe any gains with mine (and I really tried hard to observe them on trip to MN, replaced an air filter as well )

Fair point. I guess I was think about cooler, denser air being forced in when moving at speed

no i didn't have a problem fitting it to the adapter but i do have a little gap right above it so maybe you got your's to fit tighter. Looks great dude! your truck kicks ass. how do you like the 4.90's i still need to get mine installed with my front locker.

Yeah, that adapter was giving me a hard time and once it split open (I was forcing it on so there wouldnt be a gap between the body and snorkel) Once it split open, I just cut it a bit so it would fit on much better without so much force, then just clamped it down with the ring it came with and screwed it tight.

As far as the gears and locker, as you can see the blue air line is just hooked up to the front diff, just not plumbed through the vehicle and wired yet. I can tell a lil bit with the gears for now. Havent really got on it yet, trying to baby it a bit til they wear in properly, then i'm going to drain it and get the small metal shavings out. Then I'll be ready to really test it. But my gas milage has improved cause of the gears, I dont know if its cause of both the gears and the snorkel, but def the gears. I thought for sure the snorkel would improve the gas too, but according to Alex, maybe it doesnt. I wouldnt know since I got the gears and snorkel installed around the same time.

Thanks Toasty for the props, you still have other things on your truck I would love to do, plus the skill you have with the metal. I still need full armor or I wont be testing out the gears and lockers on anything hardcore til the skids are done

It has got to have a ram air effect. When I did mine, I noticed the K&N stayed cleaner longer, just more bugs in the air box.

There should be a Dec trip (End of the Year Run) Ruben. Hopefully Angelo will make it to one of the trips and get to test out the lockers and gears. Not seeing the snorkle getting any action..unless the soup bowl actually floods. I still say you spray painted it flat black to match...you just can't help yourself when it comes to looking cool jk. You know thats mod envy talking. Both installs look great, hope you guys get to put them to the test soon.
