I'm going to port and polish mine when I get around to getting one.... Mine is already done. My snorkle snake did it for me. Dude! You can't talk like that here. This is a family forum I'm trying to figure out how to justify getting a snorkel when I don't have second gear. The horsepower increase from the "ram air" effect will be so great that you will no longer need nor desire 2nd gear. Being snorked myself, I can attest to this. I have NEVER put my Monty in "2". I only use "D".

And, of course, switch to synthetic everything, put in a K&N (and a Vornado) and you will even get to skip first gear and maybe even jump right to lock-up in fourth (if so equipped).

You guys are snorkel crazy!!!! I did like the port and polish comment:o
Well, I guess everyone has their reason why it does or why it doesnt add any power or better gas milage. What Alex says makes sense, but more air going into the intake, I would think it would help in someway? Until there is a huge test on it and we know about it, that will put this debate at rest. Other than that..... Are you serious Scottie?!? If I color-match it, it will add 50 HP? woooow!

the real bottom line here is that adding a snorkel greatly improves gas milage and will pay for itself in time, and if you disprove this theory then how will some of the married guys convince their wives that they need one for their truck

Then you'll go really fast

I have seen drag racers put ice in some box in the intake just before the race.
I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

I have seen drag racers put ice in some box in the intake just before the race. F1 teams do that to stop the car front overheating on the start line.
