Need a Spot
I have a 2004 jeep Liberty Limited 4x4 with a 3.7L engine, The engine light came on and is throwing a code PO138 which is telling me there is a problem with one of the o2 sensors. It's telling me bank 1 sensor 2. Can anyone tell me which one of the o2 sensors is considered to be bank 1 sensor 2?. I can only see two sensors on the system, one on the right side front pipe closest to the r/s manifold and the other on the rear of the cat. Thanks for all responses.

That being a V type engine I'd guess there is a sensor on BOTH sides of the engine. Bank ONE should be the bank with the #1 cylinder on it...OR the most FORWARD of the front cylinders. I think you have missed locating one or more of the sensors.

Thanks BIGJIM,I will look at the exhaust and see exactly how many sensors are there. I was wondering thou if bank 1 is the side of the #1 cylinder which o2 sensor would be sensor 2 on the code readout?. Thanks again for all your help, very much appreciated.
