Or, does anyone know where I can find a horizontal type carburetor diagram showing the internal fuel passageways. I have one for 1983 Toyota truck carbs, but my truck is a 1984, 22R engine, and my FSM doesn't have it and my Haynes manual spends most of it's energy on EFI and skips the carb passageway diagram it had in previous years.

I'm trying to solve a hard starting problem...takes 15-20 pumps to start after sitting for a few hours. When I look into the primary venturi, and activate the throttle lever, I see a slight wet dribble on the front (front of car) wall of the venturi. This seems to be from a brass tube sticking out a bit...but I don't know if this is the actually start-up gas supply jet, or the accelerator pump jet...or if these are one and the same. I've taken off the accelerator pump diapragm, tried to blow through the small hole on the left side of the accelerator cavity, but no sign of anything coming out into the venturi. Don't know if there is a check ball inside, or if the passage goes somewhere else. But since the engine will start right up with a whiff of starting fluid, it follows that it's not getting enough actual gas to start until the engine has turned over 15-20 times.

Can someone enlighten me on this?
