I've read of the bikini top on a 4Runner and it got me thinking about adapting the whole top to a 4Runner. What say you? Time to get the measuring tape??

Doubt it would be long enough. Here is a Jeep bikini on a 4Runner and it won't reach all the way back:

Right, after seeing the bikini top mod, I wondered if a full wrangler/CJ7 top(or fastback) would cover the rear area, leaving gaps on either side of the back seat.

A top from one of the new 4dr unlimiteds may be a little closer to the right size...

find a canvas shop in your area and call in the dimensions you want with color, and placement on grommets and/or snaps. they will make it for you.
I live in san diego and had one made for my 73 blazer and 87 4runner for about $75 each- sorry no pics right now. if the thread stays alive, I will post pics.

only $75 for a complete custom made top seems too good to be true... barely covers the materials (purchaed retail of course)

The bikini top for a CJ8 (Scrambler) is longer than the YJ/TJ version.
