The voltage guage barely drops when you hit the switch, but you can tell there is more load on the alt. as throttle response and power seem a c-hair down.


Yeah Nigel, i was pretty sure i'd be fine with just the 3 core rad and new fan clutch, but i figured for $30 and an hour, it was totally worth it. Eric helped out a lot with the mounting and the wiring, i mostly just assisted.

They are wired to a toggle switch on the dash, with a relay under the hood connected to constant power. This way if i overheat on the trail, i can shut the truck down but still leave them on.

They flow enough air, that when turned on and the motor not running, it will spin the factory fan through the rad.

I figure since i've already cracked 2 heads and driven the truck only about 1500 kms total, it was a good idea.

And yes, Phil, in 66 hours we will be eating breaky, fueling up and hitting the road!
