LOL! Thanks. Yep, it's P= I x E. I think I was near my saturation point with town by the time I stopped there.

I guess! Glad I've got the kevlar chainsaw chaps!
SO, we have: drop and whack Redhead 3/4"O.D. x 5/8" I.D. wedge anchors whack adapter (3# hammmer already on site) 3/4" concrete SDS drills x 2 5/8" x 10' threaded rod, plus nuts/washers 2-1/8" arbor bit (countersink)
Score Du Jour: A friend is letting me borrow his rotohammer. Saves me a 96 mile goat rope for rental.
Still need to find SDS-chucked 5/8" wood bits, and I'm ready to drag the generator out there.

Compressed air to blow out the holes, too...
I've mounted numerous redheads to fix lab equipment to the floor. Many still had junk in the hole after a pass with a ShopVac and then would deter the redhear from cinching down.

I don't have the luxury of compressed air, so was going to tape a clear length of hose on the end of the shop vac; holes are going to be 3" x 3/4"
I can see where that would be more desireable tho'.

Your plan is pretty sound, you'll be fine.
Give the "drill" hell, put a little weight into it after the bit is started. My experience is to not drill a pilot hole, it's tough on mediocre bits.
Dang, your own Bobcat? I'm fairly jealous now, the wife said absolutely not...

No Bobcat, but the neighbor lives within a quarter mile, and I can rent his; he's got a bucket and forklift. I've also got access to a backhoe, also within a stone's throw; takes me 10 minutes to walk it down there. Did the test holes and the culverts with it. Purty sweet; I keep him in filters/oil/hydraulic fluid/fuel
Got the bits at an industrial hardware store; no home cheapo. I'm hopin' the new Grainger store has the wood bits in stock; will be calling them in the AM.

What's your seismic risk class up there? I think we're a C in North Ga. Wind exposure class is the big factor in selecting tie-down anchors. Earthquakes don't usually make the building want to fly away...
And I'd use a second drill for the countersink holes. Not many SDS bits for wood - no call for them.
You could use a standard spade wood boring bit for the c/s in your basic 3/8" drill.
I've run most hammer drills off of a 2000w genset. Very few draw over 13-15 amps, and the only one I ever used that did was a 60# pavement breaker with 'lectron power instead of air.
Not responsible for advice not taken...

Here in the Interior, it's seismic zone 3. I live near an active fault, so we get little tremors quite often. http://www.ivi-intl.com/art/IVI_Map_S-W.pdfIn winter, we get lots of wind out there, so hurricane clips are going to be integrated when the roof goes on (next year I hope!!!). I borrowed a friends' Kestrel a couple winters ago; ziptied it to a 20' pole and scoped the speed thru binoculars-- summer solar, winter wind baby!! I can get into a household system for $6K, but that's another topic. Gotta get this thing moved first!!
