Haha, Bill, where did you get the hood scoop? looks like somethin id like to try...

It's a Subaru Impreza scoop. The guy I bought it from suggested a WRX scoop possibly but that would have been TOO TALL! This one is about right. Wouldn't want it a quarter inch taller.

Its functional, right? Ive seen to many of those stupid, glue on scoops that dont even work, including the scoops on the newer toyotas. It goes through the hood and all, but it doesnt flow...absolutly pointless...

Functional in terms of open to the engine bay (the hood MUST be cut to install it). Not sure how much airflow occurs or how much it is needed. But cool air on the intake manifold is always a good thing.

Of course, my burritos will not be as warm...

I ran a couple years with a hole in my hood. No issues.

So you want pix? You mean like this?

This is the new interior, with Herculined floor and wells, and indoor/outdoor carpet in charcoal from Home Depot. The side panels were preserved from before, gray indoor/outdoor carpet over plywood, secured with stainless fasteners and nylocks, with two access doors per side allowing use of the quarter panels for storage. The toolbox is from Caribou Luggage, makers of motorcycle saddlebags for dualsport bikes - extremely durable modified Pelican cases. I can attest that the tools stay put even in a rollover.

Side shot. The Bushwackers balance the glass front fenders pretty well IMHO.

Gnarly front shot.

Best I could do with a cellphone. I guess I need a cam for Christmas this year.

Thanks, Moomba, for the inspiration on using Bushwackers, but painting them to match...

Wow, what a beautiful truck!!! I love that hood scoop too.

I need to get my 4Runner back on the road...haven't driven it in more than a year. It's still in L.A. I miss it:

Yep, very nice truck!
Here is what I did to protect the weakest link, the Bushwackers. It works very well. Though the 'rock glides' appear to be frail in the mount areas, and easily folded, it is 1.5" DOM with a burly center mount on 1/4" plate running to a hoop, thence running to the frame. Solid. And unobtrusive.

I wanted to be able to navigate trails like this without fear of crushing the 'Wackers.

Another gratuitous poseur pic:

The infamous RED CHILI coincidentally camped right next to us in MOAB last weekend!
Good to meet you, Bill.
How did you get those front fender tubes bent like that? Super clean!
