Yea, that 'starting at 5am' thing worked last week before the monsoon humidity moved in I have issues to take care of before the Farmington trip on Aug. 2 and I'm seriously considering canceling just so I don't have to work in this life-sucking heat.

Mike needs to go on the easy air conditioned wheeling trip planned in a couple weeks...the trail ends in the pines with burgers and beer...is there any better way to spend a Saturday?

Thinking about it Mark. I need a "get out" here pretty soon. I know other Mark would let me on the run if it gets past his limits.

Welp, I was going to suggest a good weekend-long bonding session with your truck - get out and use it! That always gets me out of the doldrums.

You're welcome to drive it out here and work.

In the interests of hijacking this thread Do any of you guys get to Yuma often? I'm considering a trip to check out some auto auctions that a buddy used to regularly attend like 7 or 8 years ago. Just wondering if they are still there?

Hmm, I don't know anything about the auto auctions. If you make the trip in November, our local club is having a joint run with the Yuma 4-Wheelers on Nov. 10th...join us for some (moderate) rock crawling!

Damn, it wasn't real hot (around 104) but it was HUMID yesterday. I've been on this "losing fatitude" kick lately after the surgery and I'm doing well, this is NOT the way I wanted to drop the pounds. I drank at least two gallons of water and my kidneys are KILLING me today.

I did get a lot done, the bumper needs a ton of hand finish work (by my standards) before it can be painted. I kind of jacked around a little with the OME stuff, but I want to get the bumper done and on the truck first. I'll probably start priming the steel tomorrow evening. Overall, it felt good to get out in the garage and get dirty. Spending money on parts has also gotten me motivated to remove to status of "garage decoration" or more commonly known as "toe breakers."

Yuma? Dunno, the last time I was there was on my way out to SD. We do have three big car auctions in PHX. Come on down, we'll make sure your stay is as hospitable as possible despite the brain frying heat.

Ooh that sounds like fun. Would you have room for a ridealong? Getting my truck down there wouldn't be an option.

Amen! Get some four-low time... it works for me. I've been sneaking back out on the trail, breaking and repairing and shaking out bugs, with more miles between each remaining nit...

I'm now to the point where the flaws and breaks don't really bother me, and damned if I'm not having fun with the whole package now... rigging up to 'flat-tow to or from the trail, puttering down the trail, working an obstacle hard, or wrenching in the shop after it all.

Damn good to be back! I wish the same to you, Mike!

What...no time for pics of the (unpainted) bumper Let me know if you need help mounting it after paint...wouldn't want to scratch that thing.

We will have open seats. I've never wheeled in Yuma, but plan on wheeling some rocks and exploring an deserted mine.
