Correct. I've seen several of my vehicles do it. I double checked and nothing was broken or locked, it was just the grease\gear friction that can make it turn.
Now, it may have been too much grease on my Toyotas but my GM and Fords are totally OEM and they do it too.
EDIT: But I'm not saying you didn't put somethign back together wrong. smile

Many non-full time 4WD vehicles do it. It has something to do with all the gears that are turning. I bet if you put all four wheels off the ground, started it up in gear you could grab the d-shaft and stop it. If everything is set up right, it is not really under power.
