Need a Spot
Hi guys
I have 88 SWB with 4 banger with 170K miles on it. Truck is in good shape and I've already put 2in body lift with 32" tires. Problem is that with high mileage and age of the motor it's burning oil big time and been thinking about rebuilding the motor since I haven't had very good luck finding a used one. Any recommendations on what should I get from where to rebuild engine?
Thanks

Body Damage is Cool
This is what I used on my 1987 2.6. I've run it about 75,000 miles since then, and except for minor problems (starter went out, a few carb issues) I've had no issues. I have 149lbs on each cylinder, and use very, very little oil. If you have any questions let me know.

That piston has a lower deck height and will drop the CR a bit...1.395 VS 1.418 comp height. .023" is a pretty big change and will drop the CR about 1/2 a point.

Unless you mill the head a bunch.... like .023"

And just get the felpro 9116pt head gasket set instead of the stock monty head set. Saves a few bucks, and the starion stuff fits fine, and I think the exh mani gasket is better stuff.
