Getting the Wheeling Fever

Just thought I'd take a tally to see where everybody prefers to shop.
I just replaced a brand new clutch master cylinder -- again because the brand new one I just bought was faulty. Last year same thing with 2 fuel pumps and don't get me started on the number of starters I've been through. All from Advanced Auto. I boycotted Auto Zone after the store manager double charged me, then when he tried to fix the mistake he triple charged me, then told me there was nothing he could do about it. No way am I going to Toyota. Who have you had the most luck with?

No way am I going to Toyota. Who have you had the most luck with? Why? Much better parts then you are going to find any place else, they fit and last a lot longer. I have never had an out of box failure on OEM parts. My second choice is NAPA, I have never had an out of box failure with their parts either. The only thing I go to all the others is for oil, wax and additives for my diesel two rig. I call them wax and oil stores. Just my opinion.

yeah man- what you got against toyota parts? yes, they cost more but at least you dont have to go to those crappy auto parts stores and stand in line with idiots and be "helped" by a 19 year old idiot who doesnt even know what you need or want.... it is worth the extra hassle/expense to go to toyota, get the RIGHT part, and know it wasnt made in malaysia by a 9 year old girl.
NAPA for oil and stuff.

What Oops said x2. Non Toyota masters will only last a year, usually just long enough for the warranty to run out!

Another vote for Toyota and NAPA!
My local dealer has 25% off every Wednesday afternoon, so that's when I usually buy parts. Lots of online dealers offer similar discounts. Sometimes its still expensive, but if its a part that lasts another 10-20 years, its usually worth it.
And like OOP's said, I only shop at the other cheapy stores for name-brand parts that they might have a good deal on-- parts/products that they can't screw up!

www.1sttoyotaparts.comYou get Toyota parts usually cheaper than the parts store stuff anyway. If it's something I need same day, Bennett Auto. It's a FL chain.

Personally i would much rather go to the dealer, parts are WAY BETTER! Fortunately i have a good rapport with the guy at the Toyota parts counter, he has been giving me everything at commercial and employee discount rate.

Sweet thanks for the link. Interesting to see so many good things about the toyota dealers. Maybe I have a bad one in town because they are rarely just a 'little' more expensive.
