OK here is my problem:
On my way back home from the last Rubicon trip the "check engine light" came and it felt as if the iddle was off. So I stop to check the engine bay and notice some sort of vacuum leak coming from underneath the top plastic cover (front) so to play it safe I unplug the harness to (what people say) is the lower plenum butterfly. After messing with it for a bit the check engine light went off for awhile but then came back again later on, I was so tired that I just kept driving home with the engine light on.
Made it home OK and the next day I check with more detail and notice that air leak is coming from the plastic little part on the lower plenum. (sorry but don't know what the actual name is...will look it up on the manual tonight)
Is this like a symptom when the lower plenum needs to be replace or is it just that "little plastic part" that needs to be replace?
Thanks for any inputs you can offer me! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

I think there's a write-up on the main Mitsu page, the one right when you log in <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I saw that write-up but that's my last resource, I don't have the funds/time to get it done before the Sierra Trip.
I was refering to what TOASTY said he did with his! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

I don't think we did a right up I helped toasty pull his apart. Kinda going from memory it was a couple years ago but once we got it torn down we removed the rail and butter flys/bushings and vacuum diaphram then where the vac diapham connects to the plenum we sealed the hole up. Its pretty easy once you get it apart you'll know what mean.

Just to be more specific as far as where I can see/hear the air/vacuum leak coming from, here is a pic:
Also, are you guys saying to remove all 6 butterflies/rod, etc. and tig weld all 6 holes as seen on this picture?
Sorry for the first grade illustration but was the only pic I could find <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

WOAH!!

NO, the holes that are to be tig welded are ONLY where the shaft that the butter fly valves are connected to passes through each wall, so the idea is that those holes that you made solid red will be completly open and the holes where the bushings are for the metal rod to pass through the aluminum walls will be closed up, including the front hole, where you have air leaking out of now.
