well, here goes...
i pulled a tractor yesterday with my truck for my dad. i towed it at no more than 15 mph, in first to second gear. it was pretty heavy (5000 lbs. +), and took alot of effort. afterwards, i noticed a vibration. the vibration shows up in all gears, around 1500 and 3000 rpms, then goes away. im really confused. the vibration isnt present unless the truck is moving and in gear, so i think that eliminates motor problems. any ideas?

Check your driveshaft. If you've got a two-piece unit, pay particular attention to the rubber bushed center bearing.

Have your wheels/tires balanced, too.

What speeds are you traveling when this happens? If you feel the vibe and push in the cluth does it go away?
If it's 4WD than the rear driveshaft and take it for a spin to help isolate what area it's coming from.
I would put my cash on the U-Joints were worn and you just did them in towing the tractor.

haha...i feel REALLY, REALLY stupid...i found the problem...i had to fix my makeshift exhaust hanger, and i accidentally tightened it too much, making the tail pipe vibrate against the underside of the bed...i loosened the hanger, and the vibration went away...
so, once again, i feel REALLY REALLY stupid... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" />
