I just sold my lifted F150 in the spirit of family values, ie wife needed a van. Because of that I inherited her 2002 Rodeo, which I need to do something to. I'm thinking about the Calimini 3' deluxe lift and I would like to know hat wheel/tire combination can I run (meaning how BIG can I go). I'd like to go with 16" rims, but am flexible with the offset/spacers.

First off, welcome to the sight. I offer the suggestion of staying away from Calmini. They make a good product(although a good portion of their kit is unnecessary) they are HORRIBLE to deal with, and the lead times on their kits are ridiculous. They may tell you they can ship it out withing a week, but in reality you will most likely end up waiting 2-4 months for the kit to show up. WIth that said, I would highly suggest Matt at Indy4x. www.independent4x.com He is active on many of the boards and offers top notch customer service. His kit is more simple, however it is the parts that are needed or recommended, not a bunch of parts that aren't needed. As for tire size, you will be able to fit a 265/75/16 or a 32x11.5x15. You will require a little trimmin at the base of the front wheel wells to reduce rubbing, although you will probably rub a litle at full lock and compression. Again, welcome, and check out Matt at Indy4x..and if you have any more specific questions he is a good resource.

I also recommend Matt at Indy4X. Get his 3" suspension lift but don't get the manual hubs because they won't work on an '02 Rodeo. They changed the front axle in '02 so that there is a big nut instead at the end instead of a snap ring. There are no manual hubs that will work on an '02, so there will be increased stress on your cv joints because they will be turning all the time at an increased angle. But, a lot of guys run a lift on the '02 anyway. Diff drops reduce the angle. In my opinion, you don't need all the extra stuff in a Calmini kit. They are just trying to offer a "complete kit similar to other trucks, but some guys on this forum really like the extra stuff like the a-arms. The 265/75R16 works well with our Rodeos and there will just be easy overfender trimming to make it work.
Anubis (Bryan) has a lifted (3"+3") '02 Rodeo and you can pm him.

I have to agree with the lead-time for Calmini kits. The first call was 8-10 week, second call was an additional 4-6 weeks. Amazing they called today with my '04 supn. kit. 9 weeks after placing the order. I also tried Independent, but to date they don't support the '04 model. I'll let you know how it goes after the install is complete. Calmini recommends 31x10.50 max tire size. With a little trim 33's can be stuffed on. In the sprit of family the wife got a new mini-van and I took the Rodeo.

If I use more of an off set rim, can I go bigger with the tire, or is turning not the clearance issue?
What is the offset on the rims are you using to put the 33"s on?

With just a 3" susp. lift you can forget about 33's no matter what offset you use (simply not enough room in the front). You can do 3" susp. + 3" body which will allow using 33's or 34's with the right offset (ask bigpoppax2, he's running 34's).
For 32x11.50x15 or 265/75/16 you'r best bet is running the stock rims (for 16's) or 15" rims with similar offset. If you go with neutral offset you'll rub even with 31's (i've got this set up) & you'll endup trimming anyway.
Than again if you don't mind doing A LOT of trimming you coulg fit 33's with just susp. lift (but it will not be pretty).

[quote]....... I also tried Independent, but to date they don't support the '04 model. I called someone the first week of June and they told me the kit would only work up to 2003. That's why I went with Calmini. So, If I add the 3" body lift 285/75r16's will fit nicely?

2002, 2003 and 2004 all have the same stuff in terms of suspension. Some 2004s have different engine and different transmission, but this is not related to the suspension kit.

Thank you for the clearification. This is my first Rodeo and it been hard finding aftermarket parts. I'm glad I finally found this site for help. It seems I wasted a ton of time before now.
