I know most of you are more hardcore off-roaders, but I use mine as a daily driver. I wanted to upgrade my stereo setup in my truck. The PO put in a nice Pioneer CD headunit, but the front speakers were removed (or never there?) and the rear speakers are either stock or a cheap replacement and they sounded like garbage when cranked up. So I found these "Quad Pods". They are made for Jeeps, but they fit really well in the back of a Raider/Montero.

I mounted mine to a piece of plywood (rather than screw them into the floor, they tip over easily if not mounted) so that they are removable. I had an amp that my brother gave me and also mounted that to a piece of plywood. I covered all the wood in black alcantara (faux suede) that I had from a previous project. The Quad Pods are $190 w/ free shipping from Crutchfield and they can also be found with speakers already installed (Pyle brand I believe) but I bought a set of MTX 8" subs and Blaupunkt 6.5" speakers. Total cost was about $300.

Now I can hear the stereo with the windows open! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

So can everyone else, right? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

If you remove the door panel, you can see there is a spot where door speakers are made to be there. You just need to cut a hole in the door trim and you're good to go.

That looks pretty sweet though, it would be cooler if they could be changed to fit around the wheel wells.

They look nice, but I hope you park in a secure garage.
